Payment Plans and Options
August 23 2024 7:52pm • Est. Read Time: 2 MINWhether you are set to have your mortgage pay for your policy or if you’re going to use your credit or debit card, there are two options:
1) Pay your premium in full.
If you don’t want to pay at signing and there is more than a week before your effective date, that’s ok! We will automatically charge the card on file seven (7) days before your effective date. If payment is not received before the effective date, however, your policy will cancel.
2) Choose an installment plan.
If you don’t want to pay your full premium amount all at once, you may decide on an installment plan that allows you to pay over time. However, installment fees will apply.
The installment fees vary by state, to account for transaction costs. To find out how much fees will be in your state, please discuss your payment options with your Kin representative before signing. Our fees are never hidden – we want you to know exactly where your money goes.
Typically, the options are 2-payment or 4-payment installment plans. These options may vary depending on the type of policy you are getting.
If you opt for an installment plan, we will send two reminder emails one sixteen (16) days and another seven (7) days prior to each installment payment due date - though no action will be necessary on your part, since we’ll already have your card on file! Installment plans are automatically set for auto-pay.
Want to change your payment plan? You can change your type of payment method and payment plan if you have not yet made your first payment on your policy or when your policy is up for renewal.
Note: Renewal payments for insured paid policies (aka your mortgage company is not paying for your policy) are processed 16 days before the renewal effective date. If the payment fails for any reason, you will have until the day before the renewal effective date to make a payment and renew your policy.
