Types of documents that may be requested and what can be accepted

Not every policy or endorsement will require documents to be submitted. 


Your Kin representative will let you know the specifics, if and when we need documentation from you. Any documents requested will depend on your situation and request.


Some examples of documents we may request are:

  • Wind Mitigation Reports

  • Proof Of Repairs

  • Proof of Last Complete Re-Roof

  • Finalized/Completed Roof Permit (PDF/JPEG)

  • A Signed Subscriber Agreement


When we do request documents from you for any reason the general guidelines are:


Documents must include:

  • Dates

  • Signatures

  • Licensed contractor’s information


We Cannot Accept:

  • Self-repairs to electrical or plumbing

  • Emails from your contractor to you


For Florida policies, we will request a Wind Mitigation Report aka a “WindMit.” Your WindMit may qualify you for a credit on your premium.


When sending a copy of your WindMit to Kin be sure your information (name, address, etc.) on the documents match the information on your policy and includes all of the following information:

  • Signed and dated by a licensed inspector

  • Color photos

  • The roof material on the home and when it was installed/updated last
